“Kulhivaru Ijlas 2016”, organized by Maldives Sports Corporation Ltd in partnership with Ministry of Youth and Sports, and Commissioner of Sports. was held on 24th September 2016, at Paradise Island Resort.
After 10 years, Kulhivaru Ijlas was the first event to gather professionals from the industry for a full day engagement, discussing key issues related to the development of the industry, the major challenges and key focuses for sports across the nation.
The event marks as the first event held by Maldives Sports Corporation.
Among the 22 National Sports Association, 16 Association took part in Kulhivaru Ijlas.
Speaking at the opening of Kulhivaru Ijlas 2017 Sports Commissioner highlighted the importance of Kulhivaru Ijlas and individual involvement and support in developing sports sector.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of Kulhivaru ijlas 2017, Chief Guest Honourable Irthisham Adam’s speech highlighted the importance of identifying the challenges and achievements in sports sector, by including professionals from the industry. The government of Maldives is currently working on to maintain a sustainable way of developing the sector by providing opportunities to people’s who are involved in the sector.
Developing this industry is one of the government manifestos. Therefore, Maldives Sports Corporation was established to support and assist Associations, clubs, NGOs.
