Maldives Sports Corporation initiated to introduce dodgeball to Maldives in-collaboration with Malaysia Dodgeball Federation from October 29 – 30 2017. The practical sessions and theory sessions of this training was held in Social Centre.
Maldives Sports Corporation opened opportunity for teams to train professionally to play Dodgeball as a competitive sport in the hope to revive this beloved sport and elevate it to national and international level. All the training was conducted by the Malaysian Dodgeball Federation Coaches.
The main aim of this training program is to build strong teams among government companies. For this training, professional coaches and players of Malaysia Dodgeball Federation arrived at Maldives on 28th October 2017.
To participate in the training a large amount of government companies showed interest, but as for the limited seating only 6 teams of 6 players were selected: 2 women’s team and 4 men’s team.
Certificates were given to participants who successfully completed the training course from Maldives Sports Corporation. Dodgeball is played as a professional sport in 65 countries around the world. In Maldives Dodgeball is famously known as “Faiga Thalhaa”.
