President of Netball Association of Maldives (NAM), Aminath Shaazleen, has been elected as a vice-president of Asian Netball Federation (ANF).
Shaazleen was elected as a vice-president for the next two years. This is the first time a Maldivian had been elected for a position in the International Netball Federation.
During the ANF congress held at South Korea on Thursday, nine out of 12 member countries voted for Shazleen. Along with Maldives, Australia and Pakistan competed for the two vice-presidents.
NAM said the yearly report of 2016 and financial statistics were presented by member countries during the Congress.
NAM vice president Aminath Nimaa said that Shazleen is a huge support to regain the misplaced hope for netball. Today, she deserves the position for continuously working hard to develop netball.
NAM President Aminath Shaazleen, Vice-President Aminath Nimaa, General Secretary Mohamed Shaahee represented Maldives at the ANF Congress.
