Sports Marketing & Sponsorship Workshop

Under the core purpose “Making Sports Rewarding For Everyone”, Maldives Sports Corporation conducted a workshop on “Sports Marketing and Sponsorship Workshop” from 27th – 29th January 2020.

The aim of this workshop was to work along with the relevant stakeholders to change the way we look into the development of sports in Maldives by implementing different sports projects and programs that addresses how sports in Maldives can be professionalized and managed in a way that it can be sustainable and help taking sports to the next level.

The workshop was mainly focused on Introduction to sponsorship activation, how to build an attractive package and how to create a sponsorship pyramid. Additionally, practical case studies were discussed where participants had to tailor a Sponsorship package and propose a suitable package and introduce an activation plan. Each session was concluded with questions and answers between participants and the Facilitator, Mr. Cinto Ajram.

During the closing ceremony Minister, Mr. Ahmed Mahloof stated that, the next Indian Ocean Island Games (IOIG) event which is scheduled to take place in 2023 to be held in Maldives, which would be a great source of pride to our country. He also expressed that IOIG2023 work is already underway to bring the vision to fruition and to provide the resources and opportunities for local athletes. He stated that Maldives Sports Corporation would play a vital role in future Sporting programs and IOIG2023.

Our Managing director, Mr. Mauroof Ahmed stated during the closing event, that the exchange of ideas and the new things learned from this workshop would definitely benefit our sports industry in making the sports landscape an industry that is financially independent on its own and run our sports organization in a sustainable manner.
